and
21 results are returned, including 1.15 acres in Kalispell on
Cree Lake and .42 acres in Lake County. (There's more than 16,000
parcels for sale on the site representing close to $10 billion.)
Similar searches can be performed on
ResortScape.com, though that site is geared more towards condos
and homes in resorts or planned communities. For example, it allows
users to search for properties for sale near golf courses,
vineyards or mountain resorts.

SecondSpace enters second-home market
Second-home markets are more about lifestyle,
Pereira said, with the activities and atmosphere taking priority
over the home itself in most cases. So the company started out
trying to pull those considerations into its search technology.
While on ResortScape.com, for instance, a person looking for
"skiing in Vermont" will see a number of property listings in
skiing areas of the state, but may also get suggestions for
properties near ski resorts in similar areas.

The sites really cater to all the needs a person
wants when seeking a perfect second home, such as service providers
in the area who can help maintain the second home or appraise it. I
also like the fact that you can narrow your interests. For
instance, I chose "active adult" in "North America" seeking "golf"
properties for $470,000 and up, with 5 bedrooms, etc. There are
some 40 million people in the U.S. who own a second home, whether
it's a time share, or vacation home, or just property. So, clearly
there should be demand for such a site.

niche-focus and the attraction that it can give to the specific
demographic that they’re catering to.

SecondSpace - an Internet Strategy
Once data on a particular consumer populates,
the vertical search engine is not only applicable to real estate,
it can be used by the same consumer for flights into Salt Lake
City, for fishing and camping in the summer, for Park City night
life. SecondSpace plans to build out new topical sites - i.e.
fishing - catering to consumer lifestyle that will complement
Resortscape and
Landwatch, and its brethren.
